Ash and Ember, a 7-year-old brother and sister duo, could be your "two lifelong cuddle buddies." Would you like to meet them?

SMITHTOWN, NY — Ash and Ember, a 7-year-old brother and sister duo, are the Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pets of the Week.
Ash, the boy, and Ember both boast beautiful brown tabby coats with adorably unique flecks of white patching, according to shelter staff. They found their way to the shelter after years of living in a home crowded with many other cats.
"Nothing would make these inseparable siblings happier than to bring warmth and sparkle to one lucky family’s heart and home," the shelter stated.

Ash and Ember would thrive in most homes, including a family with other cats, older children and possibly dogs, the shelter wrote.
"They are a brother and sister who have never been separated and would do best if adopted together."
If you are interested in meeting Ash and Ember, please fill out an application to schedule time to properly interact with your prospective soul mate in a domestic setting.
There are currently a variety of male and female cats and kittens available to adopt or foster.
"If you are looking for a fun-loving, yarn-tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two," the shelter stated.
All of the felines at the shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board-certified veterinarian.
Hours are currently Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays and Wednesday evenings are by appointment only.
The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers and kennel attendants at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
The shelter is also seeking foster volunteers. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for an extended time.
