SMITHTOWN, NY — Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke were seen in Smithtown on Tuesday on the set of "Leave the World Behind," an upcoming Netflix movie, Hollywood Life reported. The outlet published photos of Roberts and Hawke on set in Smithtown.
The film is an adaptation of Rumaan Alam‘s novel. It is about a family hoping to take a vacation with their teenage children when the renters' getaway is interrupted by the homeowners returning to their holiday home because of a blackout in the city, according to the IMDB page.
"As strange sonic booms shatter the peace of the countryside, and animals start to migrate in strange ways, the physical and mental health of the families begins to disintegrate," the IMDB description reads. "The renters are upscale and White; the owners are upscale and Black. The issues of race and clash become distractions to the more alarming things are happening all around them."
