KINGS PARK, N.Y. — Kings Park teen Zachary Gilbert, a member of Boy Scout Troop 75, earned the rank of Eagle Scout - the highest honor in scouting — after completing a community service project, earning the required merit badges and demonstrating leadership skills.

Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Gilbert on Oct. 4 at Travis Hall at St. Joseph's Church.

"This is a wonderful honor for Zachary, and he certainly earned it," Trotta said. "I know his parents, family, friends, troop leaders and fellow scouts are extremely proud of him. What is so special about this award is that you obtained it while still a teenager. This recognition will stay with you for the rest of your life."
