- Army veteran Joseph Annunziata of Kings Park returned to Stony brook Hospital to thank the staff for helping him when he suffered a stroke on Veterans Day. Annunziata felt weakness on one of the sides of his body while driving to a store and quickly reached out for help. Doctors said they used a pioneering technique to reverse his serious condition. - There is still some time left to sign up for the 15th Annual Turkey Trot at Nissequogue River State Park. This family event has been happening in the neighborhood for the last 15 years and is going strong! The trot starts at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 24. Food, refreshments and crafts will be offered. - A holiday craft/vendor fair will be set up for the first time at Wenonah Elementary School on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors will have Christmas decorations, baked goods, clothing and more at 251 Hudson Ave., Lake Grove. Free photos with Santa will be a plus. This event is free admission and organizers aim to host it early. (Smithtown Patch)
- Swallow Kitchen & Cocktails is now open ten miles from Smithtown. The new eatery serves small plates and burgers at 91 Broadway, Greenlawn. Owner James Tchinnis said the restaurant is an upgraded version of his two previous businesses in Huntington and Montauk. (Patch)
