Former Smithtown resident Maureen Nix has died. Nix was 78 years old.
According to a Flora Funeral Service obituary, Nix, who died Aug. 27, moved from Smithtown to Burnt Chimney, Va. in 1993 after retiring. Nix was a Long Island School of Nursing graduate and Registered Nurse at Smithtown General Hospital.
Nix is survived by her sons, Jeffrey, Kerry and Bryan; her grandsons Jeffrey, Jack, and Cameron; her granddaughters Emily and Keri; and her brother Donald.
