1. Food lovers in Smithtown can celebrate a local spot recently named the best luncheonette on Long Island by the 2023 Bethpage Best of LI Awards. According to the magazine, Maureen's Kitchen serves the best breakfast, brunch and lunch and has been on the ranking of the greatest since 2010. 2. There will be a pet food drive in town to help residents of Long Island Cares which donates food and supplies for pets of families in need. Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta is helping organize the event. If you would like to make a contribution you can drop off your items at Trotta’s office at 59 Landing Avenue in Smithtown, Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Smithtown Matters)

4. The winter is slowly winding down, and it's about time to start planning summer gateways!
