  1. Food lovers in Smithtown can celebrate a local spot recently named the best luncheonette on Long Island by the 2023 Bethpage Best of LI Awards. According to the magazine, Maureen's Kitchen serves the best breakfast, brunch and lunch and has been on the ranking of the greatest since 2010. You can walk in if you haven't been there yet and want to find out for yourself! Reservations are not required. (Smithtown Patch)
  2. There will be a pet food drive in town to help residents of Long Island Cares which donates food and supplies for pets of families in need. Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta is helping organize the event. If you would like to make a contribution you can drop off your items at Trotta’s office at 59 Landing Avenue in Smithtown, Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Smithtown Matters)

  5. A woman is sought by police for allegedly shoplifting at a Walmart store in Commack. Police are asking for tips to help to identify and locate the suspect. A cash reward is being offered. Eyewitnesses are asked to contact 1-800-220-TIPS. (TBR News Media)
