- Police are searching for a suspect who stole $1,100 of merchandise from the Ulta Beauty store in Commack. He fled the scene around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 on a silver Sedan with a Florida license plate. A cash reward is offered to whoever gives tips that can lead to an identification. - Vanderbilt Museum is hosting a lecture about climate change on Thursday, March 16. Professor Michael Mehta Webster will lead attendees into a discussion about Globe warming from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person. (TBR News Media)
- Sweetbriar Nature Center care coordinator, Isabel Fernandes, made known the coyote captured in Queen last week is "doing better" and will be released to a familiar place when he is 100 percent recovered. The coyote was found astray in a Queens neighborhood with a broken hip last week. Officials caught him in a neighbor's backyard and brought him to the center in Smithtown to be treated. (Newsday)
- The launch of the MOOV App was a success in Smithtown Schools, and officials said it's "revolutionizing" the way students and parents are accessing information about school events, sport news, broadcast live, and more. West High School student and creator Kevin Camson stated the app aims to increase dynamic and to centralize information. (Smithtown Patch)
