Nesaquake Students Give Troops a Sweet Treat

Eighth grader Malone helps school donate 150 pounds of candy for soldiers serving overseas.

Students at Nesaquake Middle School in the Smithtown Central School District showed their generosity this November by donating to troops overseas.

Eighth grader Kaitlyn Malone ran a Treats for Troops drive at the school, and collected 150 pounds of candy, 55 pounds more than she collected last year.

On Veterans Day, Malone brought the candy to the U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Center in Smithtown. They will send the donations overseas to the men and women currently serving our country.
