Nesconset Fire Department hosted its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday night with sirens blaring and lights all aglow as the jolly, St. Nick waited to greet children and hear their Christmas wishes.Ā
This year's parade featured many surprises including a truck lit up like a dreidel andĀ another decorated to represent the Hess's classic holiday trucks. One that touched many hearts was a truckĀ done up in memory of Richard "Rees" Edwin-Ehmer Specht, a 22-month-old who lost his life in a tragic pool drowning, whose parents have formed the ReesSpecht Life Foundation to remind people to carry out acts of kindness.Ā
