PHOTO: Nesaquake Student Wins Essay Contest with Anti-Drug Message
The student took home a $50 prize with the winning essay.

Nesaquake Middle School handed out prizes for its Smithtown Elks Club essay contest, with its winning student proclaiming “The Choice for Me Is Drug Free!”
8A English student Max Zimmermann took first place in the contest with his anti-drug essay and the $50 prize along with it. Taylor Key, also an 8A English student, took second place and a $25 prize.
The essays will now take on the rest of New York State in a state-wide contest and will be featured in an Elks Club meeting in February.
