  1. Police continue to investigate a fatal crash in Smithtown. The incident left one dead and one seriously injured on Thursday night on Middle Country Road. Read the whole here and contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 if you have any information. (Smithtown Matters)
  2. The Smithtown Public Library-Nesconset Building is hosting a Morning Bingo for adults on Tuesday, June 13! There will be prizes and refreshments from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Registration is required and can be made at Smithlib.org. (Smithtown Matters)
  3. An old Firehouse in St. James is on the list to become a national landmark. The firehouse was the only site on Long Island mentioned during the New York State Board for Historic Preservation and fifteen other statewide places and buildings. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  4. Four High School seniors were recognized in Commack for their commitment to serving the U.S. Military. The Smithtown Patch highlights their achievements wishing all the best in their new journey. (Smithtown Matters)
  5. Students at Mills Pond Elementary showed their talents and had fun in the American Idol Essay Contest. Participants wrote about their heroes, such as special members of their families or close friends. This year's biggest winner was student Diane Lanze who wrote about her dad. (Smithtown Patch)
