Police: Local Man Sold Counterfeit Sports Merchandise in Smithtown Store

Police arrest a Smithtown man Wednesday on a second-degree trademark counterfeiting charge.

A Smithtown man was arrested Wednesday forĀ selling counterfeit sports apparel in a Smithtown store.

According to police,Ā Ronald Quinn, 46, was arrested on a second-degree trademark counterfeiting charge, a felony. Police said officers executed a search warrant atĀ The Sports Shop, located at 298 Maple Avenue, after receiving a tip that counterfeit sports apparel was being sold there.

Counterfeit NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBAĀ merchandise with a street value of roughly $50,000 was seized by officers.

Quinn is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 21.
