Protesters Against Common Core Picket News 12 In Woodbury

Residents took to the streets in front of News 12 Long Island to let the governor know that Common Core Standards are unacceptable.

Protesters stood outside of the News 12 studio in Woodbury on MondayĀ to demand Gov. Andrew Cuomo to fix or scrap the controversial new Common Core curriculum.

Those opposed to Common CoreĀ said they wanted toĀ remind the governor that even with last weekā€™s elimination of a duplicate math exam, they are still not satisfied with the new standards, the lack of funding, and the increase in high-stakes testing.Ā
