There will be overnight lane closures during the two-week project.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Overnight lane closures are coming to the towns of Smithtown and Islip, the New York State Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

Westbound traffic on the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) will be detoured onto the North Service Road between Exit 59 (Ocean Avenue/Suffolk County Route 93) and Exit 53 (Sagtikos State Parkway) in the Towns of Islip and Smithtown weeknights beginning Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. because of a pavement resurfacing project.

Additionally, one westbound lane will be closed between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
