Services, Grief Counseling Set After Death of Nesconset Teen

Moloney Funeral Home in Hauppauge is seeking school guidance counselors to help grieving friends of Liam Armstrong.

Services for Liam Armstrong, theĀ Nesconset teen who died Tuesday night after being struck by a train in New York city, will take place Saturday.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with a religious service set for 3 p.m., all atĀ Moloney's Hauppauge Funeral Home, located atĀ 840 Wheeler Road. The funeral mass will take place Monday at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in NesconsetĀ with the interment following at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

A representative for the funeral home said via email thatĀ they will have a community room open for Armstrong's classmates where they can hang out and remember their friend. In addition to the open room the funeral home also has reached out toĀ guidance counselors from the Smithtown Central School District to attend and help the students.

Armstrong, 18, is the son of Christopher and Barbara; brother of Connor, Ian and Brigid; grandson of Hugh and Anna Armstrong and Edmund and Margaret Brennan.
