SMITHTOWN, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Smithtown School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2024-25 school budget by a margin of 4,569 yes votes to 1,722 no votes.

The district's budget is $289,952,988, up 3.32 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $219,406,721, up 2.86 percent.

Smithtown Board of Education challenger Dana Fritch defeated incumbent Stacy Ann Murphy 3,614 votes to 2,664 votes.
