Smithtown 2025-26 School Budget Passes Easily

SMITHTOWN, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Smithtown School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2025-26 school budget by a margin of 4,222 yes votes to 1,921 no votes.
The district's budget is $294,996,977, up 1.74 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $225,634,831, up 2.84 percent.

Bernadette Ackerman and Alfred Carfora are competing for Michael Catalanotto's seat.
- Bernadette Ackerman: 3,600 votes
- Alfred Carfora: 2,483 votes
Karen Wontrobski-Ricciardi and Theresa Donohue are competing for Michael Saidens's seat.
