  1. A catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked at Smithtown's Stop & Shop on West Main Street. Police arrived at the scene at 4 a.m., but no arrests were made.   2. The Inhales Wellness Club in St. James is hosting the 'Yoga, Puppies & Wine' fundraiser to benefit the New York Cancer Foundation. The event is set for Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The center is at 529 Lake Ave, Saint James. More information can be found here. (All Events)
  3. The Catholic Health Services Health Screening will be parked at the parking lot of the Smithtown Public Library-Commack Building on Monday, Jan. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community is welcome to walk in for free blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index and glucose screenings.   4. Paws of War in Nesconset is working on another rescue mission. There is a puppy rescued by an American Soldier overseas, and the goal is to bring the little furry friend to the U.S. The best part of this story is that the rescue was recorded and posted on TikTok.   5. Hoyt Farm in Commack will host a unique Sunday educational program. The maple/sugaring classes are $5 per person and will be through March! The course is open to non-residents of the Smithtown township. (Smithtown Matters)
