Here's what people should know about the upcoming Smithtown Christmas Parade, hosted by the Smithtown Fire Department.
SMITHTOWN, NY — The Smithtown Fire Department's Christmas Parade is scheduled for 4 p.m. Dec. 21, the department announced.
The 45th annual parade is dedicated to the memory of Charles E.H. Lauber Jr., who died in the line of duty.
People are invited to join the department for cookies with Santa Claus from 2 to 3 p.m. at the main firehouse on Elm Avenue.

Residents are also encouraged to donate non-perishable food at Smithtown Town Hall; Giunta Meat Farms; or Smithtown High School West.
