- Last year, Riverhead won the ‘Battle of the Towns’ wellness challenge for charity against Smithtown. Smithtown, listen up! The virtual fitness fundraiser runs through Saturday, April 16. Participation includes downloading and registering for the event through the Kilter mobile app, either log your exercise manually or by gym check in. Registration is $25, which includes a $20 donation that will go to local food pantries. Hey Smithtown, let us all donate and help to get the winning trophy this year! (Greater Long Island)
- It may not be Amazon's warehouse, but a $44 million warehouse is proposed for Hauppauge. Venture One Real Estate LLC, a Chicago based company, plans to demolish the office building currently on the site and build a 124,000-square-foot warehouse. Venture also plans to build two more warehouses along Veterans Memorial Highway in Bohemia and Ronkonkoma. (Subscription: Newsday)
- The Gulf gas station and market in Lake Grove was broken into on March 5. Police are asking the public for help; anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone, call 1-800-220-TIPS. (Patch)
- Port Jefferson Give Kids Hope is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 3 from noon-3 p.m. The event is free and will feature an Easter Bunny, food, a bounce house, Dj, and fun raffles. (PortJeffCofC)
