  1. Founder Of JetBlue Launches Breeze Airways At MacArthur Airport. Airport officials announced at a Monday morning press conference that Breeze Airways will be coming to Long Island's regional airport, which local officials are planning to majorly overhaul with terminal upgrades, a campaign to attract more airlines and a rail connection to the Long Island Rail Road. Breeze was created to fill a gap in connections between secondary, regional airports. So far, the carrier flies to 16 destinations, mostly on the East Coast but also as far west as Texas. Norfolk, Virginia and Charleston, South Carolina are the first two cities that will get direct service, beginning on Feb. 17. (News 12 Brooklyn)
  2. Police Seek Suspect Who Stole Safe, 75 Inspection Stickers From Auto Repair Shop. A cash reward will be paid to anyone who helps detectives find the man who stole a safe at Atlantis Auto Repair, located at 1976 Jericho Turnpike. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering the reward for information that leads to an arrest. To send an anonymous tip, call 1-800-220-TIPS. (Newsday)
  3. Pedestrian Dies In Selden Motor Vehicle Crash. Suffolk County Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian on Sunday morning. Anthony Lepore was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado northbound on College Road and made a left turn onto Middle Country Road when the vehicle struck Linda Evangelista, who was crossing Middle County Road in the crosswalk. Evangelista, 67, of Selden, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with fatal injuries. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652. (smithtownmatters.com)
