Here’s how it works: Those who enter have a chance to win one of two (or if they’re really lucky, both!) gift baskets filled with over 30 gift certificates from more than 30 Patchogue restaurants. Entries are excepted now through Dec. 31, and the winners will be announced just before 9 p.m. at Patchogue’s Midnight on Main Street New Year’s Eve Celebration. (Greater Long Island)
- Drunken driver crashed into patrol vehicle. Coram woman is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after she crashed her vehicle into an occupied patrol car in Port Jefferson Station early Saturday. Janet Marlowe, 42, was driving a 2005 Honda Civic north on Route 112 near Sagamore Hills Drive shortly after midnight when she crashed into the police car and overturned the Civic, according to police. The patrol car, which was facing north on the shoulder with its emergency lights activated, was stopped at the scene of an earlier motor vehicle crash, police said in a news release. An officer in the police car was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Marlow was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip; she is scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 16. (Newsday)
