- The Smithtown Central School District announced Smithtown High School East juniors and seniors strutted their stuff down the runway for a good cause at Flowerfield Celebrations. Proceeds went to senior scholarships and the school's cultural arts programs. In all, 40 student models were dressed in smart tuxedos and eloquent gowns. (Smithtown Patch)
- Spring is a great time for a wellness check! On Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson, the annual Port Jeff Health & Wellness Fest will be held in person! The event features over 60 health and wellness professionals that will advise the community on healthier habits. Visit and be on your way to a healthier day! (Stony Brook News)
- County officials said this fall, Suffolk County is planning a $650,000 renovation for the historic 1802 Miller's House at Blydenburgh Park. The three-story, 3,500-square-foot, federal-style house occupies one of the best-preserved mill sites on Long Island. After renovation, the Miller's House will be furnished and reopened for tours. - The Fourth of July Grucci fireworks display and concert at Bald Hill will be back this year for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Concerts will run from May 28 to Sept. 17. (Patch)
