1. A national shortage of baby formula is due to ongoing supply chain disruptions, combined with a recent safety recall. Jill Cioffi, MD, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital emphasizes that parents follow guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics. She also suggests this (AAP) article: HealthyChildren.org. 2. Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Francis Street in Nesconset. On May 8 at 9 p.m., a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was parked in a driveway was stolen, police said. The Jeep was left unlocked and the keys were inside, police said. (Smithtown Patch)
3. On Monday, Island Harvest Food Bank unveiled its new logo and its new Melville headquarters. The new branding changes the food bank’s slogan from “Fighting hunger. Touching lives.” to “Nourishing Long Island’s Future”. The logo highlights its membership in Feeding America, "a nonprofit national network of 200-plus food banks that ranks as the nation’s single largest hunger-relief organization."
