Here are the top stories in Smithtown today:
- Suffolk County hotel employee dies after fall. David Lerner, age 41, of Holbrook, an employee of the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge, located at 1717 Motor Parkway, was at work when he fell from an upper floor window to the ground at approximately 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4. David Lerner was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. (Daily Voice)
- Police looking for Centereach woman who went missing nearly 2 weeks ago. Melissa Molinari, 38, was last seen at her home Nov. 21. Police have not said if the disappearance was suspicious or criminally related, though they did say "The circumstances are under investigation." Molinari is a married mother of four with no medical issues. She is 5-foot-4, 120 pounds with red hair and blue eyes. Police ask anyone with information to call the Suffolk County Sixth Precinct at 631-854-8652 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. (Newsday)
- Long Island Girl, 13, Home Safe After Reported Missing. Zakiah Merrival, the 13-year-old Holbrook girl who was reported missing Saturday, is at home and is unharmed. (The Patch)
