  1. IHOP in Lake Grove shuttered its 141 Alexander Avenue eatery. The three closest IHOP restaurants are now in Ronkonkoma, Hauppauge, and Port Jefferson Station. (Smithtown Patch)
  2. Long Island Feast Fest is this Saturday! The food-packed event runs from noon to 8 p.m. and features more than 50 vendors offering food, drink and arts and crafts. Tickets are $10 on eventbrite.com or $15 at the door; free admission for kids under 12. Vendors are all pay-as-you-go. (Subscription: Newsday)
  3. According to Suffolk Sheriff Errol Toulon's office, Robert Ludwig, 26, of East Setauket was arrested on multiple weapon and drug charges. The Suffolk County sheriff's office, Domestic Violence Bureau, said it served an Extreme Risk Protection Order on a man who had been deemed dangerous and should not have had weapons in his possession. Three ghost guns, ammo, and drugs were found during a search on Wednesday. (Patch)
  4. In an effort to ramp up investigators efforts to solve long-cold cases, new information on the Gilgo Beach homicides was released this Thursday. The first four victims were all prostitutes in their 20s and each of them were discovered within a one-mile radius as police searched for the body of another missing woman more than 11 years ago. A new $50,000 reward was posted seeking tips on the slayings. (Patch)
