- New cats, dogs, pets up for adoption in the Smithtown area. Consider beginning at a local animal pound like Huntington Shelter and Adoption Center, where Addison the dog is waiting patiently. - A cash reward is being offered by the Suffolk County Police Department, who is seeking the public's help in identifying a duo that allegedly stole and used a woman's credit card at Target, at 98 Veterans Memorial Highway, in Commack on Jan. 28. Anyone with information about these incidents can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. (Patch)
- Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run incident that happened Monday morning in Stony Brook. Suffolk County police said the pedestrian versus motor vehicle incident occurred on westbound Route 347 near Daffodil Lane and was reported in a 911 call at 5:16 a.m. The driver fled, but police so far have not released any information on the vehicle. The identity of the victim has been withheld, pending notification of next of kin. (News 12 Long Island)
- Suffolk County police investigators have released photos of a suspect and his vehicle after he allegedly broke into the BP gas station on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma on Monday, Feb. 28, and stole approximately $325 worth of cigarettes before fleeing in a red sedan. Anyone with information regarding the robbery or suspect has been asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. (Daily Voice)
