- Police said a New Jersey man, Alexander Keating, 24, of South Amboy, is in critical condition after falling from the ninth floor of a hotel balcony in Hauppauge, where he was staying while in town for a wedding. According to police, the incident happened overnight at the Hyatt on Motor Parkway. (Daily Voice)
- Police Blotter reported identity theft (first-degree) on Eden Drive in Smithtown at 3:11 p.m. A person stole checks out of a mailbox and changed the name on the checks to cash them, police said. (Patch)
- Fourth Squad personnel, Emergency Service Section officers and members of the hostage negotiation team responded to a Chester Street home in Lake Grove where Jarrod Pearson, 43, was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman in his family when he tried to choke her, police said. At around 8 a.m. police got Pearson to surrender, police said. The woman was brought to a hospital to be treated for serious physical injuries, police said. (Smithtown Patch)
