  1. Smithtown area pets who need a home: Dottie, Leo, Penelope and more. Dottie was found as part of our TNR program. This beauty is very scared of people, but she lights up around other cats. Leo is a handsome man who is just under 1-year-old lab mix and is as sweet as can be. He is timid, so he would do best with children 12+ years old. "Penelope is an approximately 6-month-old tuxedo kitten. Penelope is young, active, and playful," wrote shelter staff. Whether you're looking for cuddles or companionship, one of these animals could be the perfect fit for your family. (Smithtown Patch)
