- Smithtown Adoptable Pet of the Week: Leo. Sweet Leo is a 10-month-old male labrador retriever mix, and he's sweet as can be, according to the shelter. "Leo is playful, friendly, funny, and he loves kisses!" the shelter wrote. "He can be timid sometimes and does have some separation anxiety, but the right home with a loving owner can help give him the confidence he needs. Due to his timid nature, Leo would do best in a home with children aged 12 or older. Leo lived with a cat and two smaller dogs in his prior home, so he would do well in a family with other pets." - Thanks to the quick actions of Long Island's finest, a suicidal Coram man is alive and in a local hospital for observation. Police said the officers responded to a Middle Country Road building following a 911 call reporting a man threatening to jump. They arrived to find the man, whose identity was not released, sitting at the edge of the roof with both legs dangling over the edge, police said. Officers talked to him from below, while the other officers made their way to the rooftop and managed to grab the man, pulling him to safety. (smithtownmatters.com)

- Has your Facebook page been getting slammed daily with Wordle results? The web-based puzzle requires players to guess a five-letter word in six tries or less. The color of the tiles will change after each guess to show how close the player’s guess was to the word. According to Longisland.com, Discover Long Island, "the region’s official and only destination marketing organization (DMO) has announced the launch of “LongIslandle” making the tourism organization the first DMO in the nation to jump on the word guessing game trend. The customized, free-to-play game is hosted on www.LongIslandle.com," said Longisland.com. (LongIsland.com)
