  1. We most likely have no idea what it must feel like to flee our country in fear with your beloved pet in hand and with little to no possessions, much less pet food. Our local heroes at Paws Of War, are teaming up with overseas providers for relief to Ukrainian Refugees and their pets. Please donate to help Paws of War assist Ukrainian refugees and their pets, you just may feel a whole lot better if you do. (Smithtown Patch)
  2. Ralph Buono, 79, from Islip was reported missing; on Sunday afternoon, March 27, police announced that "Ralph Buono has been located, unharmed." Suffolk County Police had issued a Silver Alert for the Islip resident who has Parkinson’s disease and is showing signs of dementia. (Daily Voice)
  3. Old Fields is expanding its footprint by taking over the former Pentimento spot in Stony Brook. The modern Italian restaurant (no name as of yet) is expected to open by late spring. (Patch)
  4. Multiple people were arrested at Curry Club at SaGhar in Port Jefferson. This is the same team that brought you The Curry Club and The Meadow Club. The arrests were made during a New York State Liquor Authority inspection. Indu Kaur, the owner, is facing charges for employing unlicensed security guards. There were also 454 people in the bar, which was over its capacity of 146 people. (Smithtown Matters)
  5. As a child of nine-years-old, I remember our class writing stories about the Civil War and sending the bind bond book, to the then President Kennedy. "The Miller Place School District recently celebrated their official book launch of “Peachy Keen,” a book written and illustrated by Science Club students from North Country Road Middle School about their adventures rescuing a local sea turtle," wrote TBRnewsmedia. To obtain your copy, visit the NY Marine Rescue Center, the aquarium gift shop and at the MacArthur Airport gift shop. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to supporting the work of the NY Marine Rescue Center. (TBR News Media)
