- If you watch the Bravo reality show, "Vanderpump Rules," then you know the star of the show, Tom Sandoval. He is coming to Smithtown to perform with his cover band, "Tom Sandoval & The Most Extra," a spokesman for Sandoval announced. The band plays songs from the '70s, '80s & '90s. Sandoval's group is set to play at Napper Tandy's on 15 E. Main St., Smithtown, at 7 p.m. on March 10. General tickets are $25, while VIP tickets are $100, the event information states. - David Olivari, 37, a Coram man, was arrested Tuesday in connection with impersonating a police officer, Suffolk police said. A woman told police that she was driving on the Long Island Expressway Service Road in Ronkonkoma around 3 a.m. Jan. 22 when she was stopped by a man driving a small dark-colored vehicle equipped with a flashing light, police said. A second woman made a similar complaint after she was victimized while driving on Shenandoah Boulevard in Nesconset around 11:35 p.m. Jan. 23, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information, or who believes they have been a victim, to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or Crime Stoppers at 800- 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. (Patch)
- Due to a dramatic decline in NYC COVID-19 cases, Gov. Kathy Hochul is lifting the indoor mask mandate for New York businesses. The policy shift comes as New York makes "tremendous progress" in the fight against the coronavirus with sharp drops in new cases, positivity and hospitalizations, the governor said Wednesday. Businesses can still require masking on their own, Hochul said. (Patch)
- Reported by LI Business News, Stony Brook University Hospital is celebrating four consecutive years of being named to America’s 100 Best Hospitals in the country for clinical excellence by Healthgrades.
