  1. Man sexually abuses jogger in Smithtown: A man grabbed and sexually abused a woman who was jogging on Thursday morning, police say. The woman was jogging at the intersection of Route 111 and Estate Road around 6:40 a.m. when she was grabbed and sexually abused by a man wearing only a white tank top. Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
  2. Police: Smithtown man had child in getaway car while robbing bank. The teller handed over some cash and Phillip Ferrito took off in his vehicle, according to police. When they found Ferrito, his child was in the back seat. (News 12 Bronx)
  3. Smithtown seeks boosted sewer infrastructure in downtown. Community leaders from Smithtown and Kings Park are set to be joined by officials from the state and county on Tuesday as they plan to sign a letter to Gov. Kathy Hochul in hopes of getting the ball rolling on sewer infrastructure, according to a news release from the Town of Smithtown. (Smithtown Patch)
  4. Shell of a sustainable effort on the Nissequogue River. Things have improved significantly for shellfish living in coastal Long Island waters, thanks to the advent of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s new Suffolk County-based Marine Resources headquarters. (Innovate Long Island)
