ST. JAMES, NY — The Smithtown High School East girls varsity softball team won the Suffolk County Championship on Wednesday at North Babylon, the school district announced.

The Bulls defeated No. 1 seed North Babylon 3-0 behind a Gabby Amicizia shutout.

It marks the school's first softball county championship since 1988, said head coach Glenn Roper.
