- Smithtown High School West student Kevin Camson proudly presented his MOOV app during a Board of Education meeting on Tuesday. His invention centralizes school information and makes it accessible in real time. Camson expects the app to be launched in early March. (Smithtown Patch)
- Police are seeking the public's help to identify two men who stole $2,900 worth of smart plugs from Lowe's in Commack. Police said the suspects fled the scene in a Dodge SUV. Visit the link to see images from the security cameras inside the store and in the parking lot. (Smithtown Patch)

- Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. criticized Stony Brook officials for allegedly not developing the Southampton campus property. In a recent statement to Newsday, Thiele called the university "the biggest slumlord on the East End.ā In response, Stony Brook released a note addressing the institution's plans to extend the campus with future arts and science programs. - A robber wielding a knife and a hammer attacked a woman in her Coram driveway and then sped away in her SUV early Saturday morning, only to be caught later in Manhattan with the help of the NYPD, Suffolk police said. (Port Jefferson Patch)
