Faro is one of the founders of Troop 539G in Kings Park. To become an Eagle Scout, she earned more than 21 merit badges and served her troop in a variety of leadership roles.

She also completed a major community service project, hosting a soccer clinic for Smithtown Schools. Faro wrote up a proposal to the Suffolk County BSA council advancement chair and then discussed it Smithtown Central School District Director of Athletics, Jason Lambert. After being given permission to have the soccer clinic, Faro planned and executed a bake sale fundraiser at Saint Joseph’s Parish in Kings Park.

The bake sale was a great success, as she raised almost double of what she had in her plan. The next phase was to plan the soccer clinic. Faro recruited a few of her teammates from the Smithtown High School West soccer team to help. The two-day event raised enough money for Alyssa to purchase soccer equipment, which she donated to Smithtown High School West.
