Smithtown Police Blotter: $3,650 Worth Of Merchandise Stolen From 2 Walmarts
Lego sets and speakers were among the stolen items, police say. ALSO: Taillights stolen from three vehicles at dealership, police say.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Smithtown area from Aug. 11 through Aug. 17.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Aug. 12: Samuel Rivera, 49, of Roosevelt, stole Lego sets, vacuums and speakers, valued at more than $2,000, from Walmart at Crooked Hill Road in Commack on May 30, police said. Rivera stole Lego sets and speakers, worth around $1,650, from Walmart on Veterans Memorial Highway in Islandia on June 2, police said. He was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000, police said.
Incident
- Aug. 14: Auto-stripping (second-degree) was reported on Smithtown Bypass in Smithtown at 10:19 a.m. Taillights were stolen from three vehicles, two of which were stock vehicles, at a dealership, police said.
