Smithtown Police Blotter: Diamond Bracelet, Gift Cards Stolen From Home

ALSO: Check altered and deposited; and items stolen from mall, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Smithtown area from June 16 through June 22.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • June 27: Iris Flores, 40, of Westbury, stole gift cards from a St. James home between Nov. 1, 2024 and Nov. 13, 2024, police said. Flores was accused of stealing a diamond bracelet from the same home on Nov. 21, 2024, police said. She was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny: property value exceeds $3,000 and fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000, police said.
  • June 24: Traci Davis, 26, of Selden, altered a check and then deposited the fraudulent check into her bank account on Feb. 13, police said. She was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny: property value exceeds $3,000 and second-degree possession of a forged instrument, police said.

Incident:

  • June 24: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove at 2:53 p.m. Someone stole cosmetics from a store in Smith Haven Mall police said. All items were recovered immediately after, police said.
