Smithtown Police Blotter: Man Steals From Harbor Freight Tools
ALSO: Multiple counterfeit checks were cashed against a business, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- April 26: Anthony Bates, 33, of Wyandanch, took merchandise from the shelves of Harbor Freight Tools in Commack, placed it in a cart and left the store without paying on April 6 and April 22, police said. He was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property greater than $1,000, police said.

- April 21: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset at 11:24 a.m. Someone cashed multiple counterfeit checks against a business, police said.
