Smithtown Police Blotter: Money Stolen From Person's Bank Account
ALSO: Man arrested after damaging ShopRite currency machine and stealing money, police say.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Smithtown area from Aug. 18 through Aug. 24.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Aug. 23: Tymeek Gaddy, 40, of Hempstead, damaged a Revolution currency machine and five of its cassettes with a screwdriver and hammer at ShopRite on Garet Place in Commack on Aug. 23, police said. Gaddy stole money from the store, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $3,000 and second-degree criminal mischief, police said.
- Aug. 20: Riley Reid, 65, of New York City, stole money from someone's bank account on Dale Lane in Hauppauge on Feb. 19, police said. He was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000 and two counts of second-degree identity theft: assume another's identity to obtain goods worth more than $2,000, police said.
Incidents
- Aug. 22: Grand larceny (third-degree) and auto stripping (third-degree) were reported on Middle Country Road in Smithtown at 8 p.m. Someone stole tires, rims and accessories off of a 2025 Toyota Highlander at Smithtown Toyota, police said.
