Smithtown Rotary Club's Statue Goes Missing
Rotary's statue is missing from the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Main Street.

The Rotary Club of Smithtown's wheel statue didn't roll away on its own, but has suddenly gone missing.Â
Vito Poveromo, a founding member of the Smithtown Rotary, reported the club's granite wheel statue was missing from its perch on the southwest corner of Lawrence Avenue and Main Street on May 30, reported the Times of Smithtown.
Poveromo donated the statue of the International Rotary's symbol, a yellow and blue wheel with 24 cogs and spokes, five years ago in honor of the Smithtown branch's 50th anniversary. The statue has the words "50 years of service to the community and the world."Â
Anyone with information about the missing granite statue may call the Suffolk County Police's Fourth Precinct at 631-854-8400.
