SMITHTOWN, NY — For people who have gone to a park in the summer and thought, "I wish I had brought my sunscreen," some Smithtown High School West seniors are trying to resolve that issue in the future, according to the school district.

Brianna Frayler, Ava Thomas, Isabella DiClemente, Samantha Becker and Emma Risolo recently met with Smithtown Town council members to propose sunscreen dispensers at local beaches and parks.

The proposal is the Civic Capstone Project that the students need to complete to earn the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness.
