SMITHTOWN, NY — Election Day 2023 has come and gone, as voters went to the polls on Tuesday. The unofficial results for Smithtown Town Clerk are in. Republican Thomas McCarthy and Democrat William Holst ran for the vacant seat.

Here are the unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections, last updated at 10:27 a.m. 92 of 92 districts have reported results.

  • Thomas McCarthy (Republican): 16,318 votes
  • William Holst (Democrat): 8,904 votes
