Here are the top four stories today in Smithtown:

1. Smithtown’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Town Hall. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., attendees will enjoy live music, school district students' performances, treats and a special visit from Santa Claus! A particular spot will be set up to receive non-perishable food items as a donation for the Smithtown Pantry. The Smithtown Town Hall is at 99 W. Main Street, Smithtown. (Town of Smithtown)
   
2. The Nissequogue River State Park Foundation 5K Turkey Trot kicks off Thursday. The events start at 9 a.m. at 799 St. Johnland Road in Kings Park. All ages are welcome to participate in the event. 3. The Smithtown East High School Craft & Gift Fair kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 3-4, in St. James. The indoor event features vendors offering holiday findings and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. The school is at School Street in St. James. (LI Events)
4. Stay tuned for the Smithtown Municipal Services Facility Winter Holiday Hours. The
   Smithtown Sanitation is closed on Friday, Dec. 23. On Dec. 24, the Municipal Services Facility (MSF) will be open. The facility will close again on December 25- 26 and reopens on Dec. 27. (Town of Smithtown)
