- The Smithtown Historical Society is just twelve days away from being lit with the Suffolk Winter Lantern Festival. From Nov. 5 through Jan. 8, handmade lamps in the form of animals, flowers, dinosaurs and more will be displayed on weekends from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Visit the Show Clix website to purchase your tickets. - Smith Haven Mall is hosting and "Spooktacular" afternoon on Monday with Trick-and-Treating and everything in between for all kiddos that shows up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. All stores participating in the event will have a pumpkin sticker on its window. Pictures and props will be available with seasonal decorations. (Patch Events)
- Smithtown Central School students and teachers rolled their sleeves up to participate in the Beach Cleanup event at Sunken Meadow State Park. Around one hundred peers collected 192 pounds of garbage with the AMSEAS (Atlantic Marine Conservation Society). (Patch)
- Commack Fire Department responded to a blaze emergency at Jericho Turnpike and Indian Head Road on Friday afternoon. According to our first responders, a telephone pole caught fire at 12:37 p.m. No injuries were reported in the incident. (Patch)

- Town of Smithtown features little Zendaya as the Pet of the Week. Zendaya, the cat, is a one-year-old female who needs a permanent home. Sad, she was diagnosed with cat leukemia, which will shorten her life, but she is happy and playful and deserves to find a family/person who will cherish her life and help her to make the best out of it.
