- A group of Smithtown residents opposes the intention of a real estate company to expand its parking lot. According to the plan, a wooded area that separates the company building from the houses in the neighborhood would be torn down to create space for 66 cars at 444 Rte. 11. The application appeal has been postponed to Jan. 24. Smithtown Patch will inform readers about the Town's decision. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Smithtown Eagle Scout Dan Keenan rolled his sleeves up to help the nonprofit to build a new shed that will be used for storing equipment that serves special needs residents that are members of the Society for Lending Comforts to the Sick. The previous storage unit was damaged after a tree fell on it. (News 12 Brooklyn)
- The St. James Community Cultural Arts Center will host a Holiday Children's Party on Saturday. Dec. 11. The event features a puppet show, crafts, pictures with Santa and more, from 1 to 4 p.m. To participate, register online at Celebrate St. James. (Celebrate St. James)
- Smithtown High School East Leadership is helping the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund with a donation of $750, raised on the Powerpuff game held on Thursday, Nov. 4.
