  1. The St. James Farmers Market is on the horizon. The grand opening is on June 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Over 40 vendors will offer farm goodies and fun activities for all ages! In addition, live entertainment will rock the community every Saturday! The market location is at the St. James Lutheran Church, at 230 Second Ave., St. James. (Patch)

  3. America's VetDogs in Smithtown celebrates 20 years of serving our veterans to find the perfect service dogs. The nonprofit has connected over 1,000 puppies with veterans needing emotional and physical help. As the commemorative date excites those who volunteer, work, or are part of the cause, the institution features over 20 newly renovated rooms to improve the training spaces and more.   4. A Butterfly and Bird Festival is heading to Smithtown on June 10. The fest celebrates the grand opening of the Butterfly Vivarium at the Sweetbriar Center. Tickets are $25 per car. The event is rain or shine. For more information, visit here. (LongIsland.com)

  • Many parades are scheduled in Smithtown to celebrate Memorial Day 2023. The Smithtown Fire Department Parade is on Monday, May 29, at noon on the corner of Singer Lane and Main Street in Smithtown. Three VFW posts in the neighborhood will be holding parades as well.   • The Wonderland Midway Corp. Carnival will be at the Smith Haven Mall parking lot until May 29. The carnival is a family-owned company based in Brooklyn and features rides, food vendors, games, and more! (Smithtown Gov.)
