St. James Nurse Wins 'Nurse of Excellence' Award
Of more than 500 nurses across Long Island, Lisa Quinones of St. James took home top honors from the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council.

Lisa Quinones of St. James, a teacher and practicing maternal/child health nursing specialist, was named Long Island’s “Nurse of Excellence” at the Nurse of Excellence Award Ceremony hosted by the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council.
According to a statement from the council, Quinones was selected from more than 500 nurses across Long Island, and was also the first nurse educator to receive the top Nurse of Excellence honor.
The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding leadership and clinical practice, and a nurse from each hospital in the council is nominated.
