SMITHTOWN, NY — Crystal Lynn and Randy, a 2-year-old brother-and-sister feline duo each sporting a silky orange-and-white tabby coat, are the Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pets of the Week.

They were rescued through the Town of Smithtown’s Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.

"These stunning sweethearts have been melting hearts since the moment they arrived," the shelter wrote. "This brother-and-sister team are professional cuddlers, spending nearly every moment snuggled up with each other. The pair are gentle, affectionate, and ready to share their love with a lucky family. These irresistible young siblings offer a lifetime of cherished memories to share. Healthy, playful, and oh-so-cuddly, this dynamic duo is just waiting for someone to open their heart and home. These charming little orange creamsicles are pure sweetness, ready to add a burst of joy to your life. Together, this inseparable duo would flourish in almost any home, including ones with children, cats, and likely calm dogs. Their dream is to be adopted as a pair."

All of the felines at the shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board-certified veterinarian.

Hours are currently Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays and Wednesday evenings are by appointment only.

The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers and kennel attendants at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.

The shelter is also seeking foster volunteers. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for an extended time.
