Here are the top five stories in Smithtown today:
- It's that time of the year to head to Hoyt Farm in Commack to enjoy the Concert Series. The first event is set for Sunday, June 25, and will bring the 40s and 70s vibes and some jams from this time. The event is free attendance and begins at 7 p.m. (Smithtown Gov.)
- The Smithtown Public Library kicks off summer 2023 with a Lawn Party on Saturday, June 10, at 2:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy giant bubbles, fun outdoor games, dancing, and more! Click here to register. (Smithtown Chronicle)
- Congratulations to student Ashley Bandiero from Kings Park High School, named the 2023 Youth Award Recipient. Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta recognized Bandiero's efforts and contribution to the community in a special ceremony. The Smithtown Patch wishes her all the best as she prepares to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. (TBR News Media)
- Speaking of students in the community, another highlight of this week is the Smithtown High School East Musicians, who performed at Six Flags in New Jersey. Their excellence was appreciated by many who were at the park on that day and had the opportunity to be entertained by our neighborhood kids! Visit the link I've shared to see some scenes of the amused group. (Smithtown Patch)
- Have you seen him? Police are searching for the suspect who used a stolen credit card to shop at the Walmart on Crooked Hill Road. After the illegal purchase, he fled the scene in a white SUV. A cash reward is offered for those with trustful information and can be submitted at www.P3Tips.com. (Patch)
